ELEGANCE SHAPED BY THE DESERT

The Czapek Antarctique Desert Rose brings a softer, more natural expression to the Antarctique line. It comes in a 40.5mm stainless steel case with an integrated bracelet, keeping the watch firmly in the sporty-chic territory the collection is known for.

Inspired by the tones of desert minerals, the sand-coloured dial is microblasted to create a fine, matte texture that recalls wind-smoothed sand. A limited run of 25 pieces features a special 12 o’clock index in eastern Arabic calligraphy, created by master calligrapher Wissam Shawkat. Each watch is delivered with a signed certificate. A second edition of 100 pieces uses a clean, numeric “12,” offering a more pared-back look.

Czapek’s focus on symmetry shapes the overall design, with the date placed at 6 o’clock for visual balance. The result is a watch that draws on desert inspiration in a restrained, considered way.

THE SXH5 MOVEMENT: A MASTERPIECE OF CRAFTSMANSHIP

Inside the Antarctique Passage de Drake Sahara Sands is the SXH5 automatic movement, the first calibre fully developed in-house by Czapek. Its components are produced with long-standing Swiss manufacturing partners, with an emphasis on precision and consistency rather than spectacle.

The movement uses a micro-rotor made from recycled 950 platinum, which keeps the profile compact while leaving the architecture clearly visible. A free-sprung balance with variable inertia helps ensure stable timekeeping, while seven skeletonised bridges reference both 19th-century pocket watches and Czapek’s contemporary design language.

The result is a movement that combines traditional construction with a modern layout, designed to be both efficient and visually open.
